Design Fieldwork on Country is an object design focussed elective, offering students the opportunity to learn on Country.
This intensive studio residency will take place on Geera, Mount Kiera on Dharawal Wadi Wadi Country. Students will stay in
catered, lodge accommodation at the local scout camp, immersing themselves in this beautiful and highly culturally significant
site, engaging in learning activities with elders, artists and historians from the Dharawal Wadi Wadi community. Site visits
and workshops will facilitate connection with local ecosystems, natural and built. Students will also engage with lectures,
workshops, discussions and demonstrations that facilitate material culture production relevant to the site, made possible
through interaction with the materials and making processes inherent to that place.
Please note the intensive runs 2-6 September and there is an additional course fee of approximately $450 to cover accommodation
and catering from Monday - Friday. The course location is approximately 1.5 hours South of Sydney and easily accessible by
car with the option for public transport. |
