The MEM Program (IEST courses) is a dual delivery program, in which students can enrol in IEST courses for IN-PERSON/FACE-TO-FACE
(CR01) delivery (called MULTIMODAL or BLENDED/IN PERSON when you enrol/register online) or DISTANCE (CR02) (called ONLINE
when you enrol/register). For students in or near Sydney, you are strongly encouraged to enrol in IEST courses IN-PERSON
(CR01) as: 1. Face-to-face learning lends a vibrant and connected sense of community and supports more engaged learning, vitally
benefiting both in-person and distance learners during courses and far beyond graduation; 2. You do not need to register for
distance/online as a safeguard against future Covid-19 lockdowns or escalations as, in these cases, your courses will move
automatically 100% online; 3. If you enrol in-person, should professional or pressing personal situations arise, you don't
need to attend every week in-person (though of course attendance is highly encouraged) as seminar recordings are always available
to both in-person and distance students on Moodle; 4. Distance spaces are limited and exist for people who need to study online
because they have circumstances that make it difficult to attend any class meetings that term in person; and 5. In "normal"
times, distance learning in IEST courses is usually via recorded in-person seminars instead of live synchronous seminars.
Note for MEM program students learning by distance: If distance enrolment in an IEST course you require is full, please contact
the School (hal@unsw.edu.au) about the possibility of opening up a space. |
