NOTE: Students who do not have the course pre-requisite must visit the School of Languages and Linguistics' website for placement
information before enrolling to the course. Pre-requisite(s): CHIN1006 or permission of discipline advisor. All classes begin
from Week 1. There are three groups in this course: Group A (class number 3147) is for non-background speakers, and Group
B (class number 3148 and 9582) are for background speakers. Students should attend four hours of classes per week: one one-hour
lecture, one one-hour tutorial, and one two-hour tutorial. With the one-hour tutorial, two classes (one before lecture and
one after lecture) are provided for students from enrolled in Class number 3147 and 3148). Students need to enrol in one class
ONLY.
